Portable levelmeter–analyzer of liquids ANALIQ-M

Portable levelmeters and analyzers of liquids ANALIQ-M are designed for real-time measurements of level, temperature, density, type and weight of liquids, including those that are hazardous to health or stored under pressure. The analysis can be performed without opening the containers with liquids or stopping the technological process.

The device is supplied with software ANALIQ for data exchange with a computer.

  • ANALIQ-Mis successfully used by oil traders, militarized guard, fire-insurance companies, customs services and other companies involved in transportation, maintenance and protection, for:

    • Commercial accounting of petroleum products, LPG in railway (or auto) tanks, cylinders and containers
    • Identification of inconsistencies of the types of fluids declared in the invoice
    • Measurement of the level of underproduct or overproduct water

    Using this device it is possible to measure a whole railway train transporting oil products within 40-50 minutes on any section of the route, including those trains connected to contact mains, without opening the tank or performing in-laboratory analysis.

  • Working with the levelmeter and analyzer consists of two stages:

    Measurement №1 (calibration) - the results of this measurement are as follows: the value of speed of sound propagation in this liquid, type of liquid and its density at the current temperature.

    Measurement №2 - the measurement result are:

    The fluid level, the presence of underproduct water, the volume and mass of the analyzed liquid.

    For a mixture of propane/butane the ratio of its components, pressure, density and vapor mass are defined additionally.

    Measurement time is 3-5 seconds.

    To maintain high measurement accuracy it is necessary to perform the measurement on both left and right sides of a tank. Averaging the results eliminates an error resulting from the non-horizontal position of a reservoir (tank).

    The features of carrying out the measurements of vertical reservoirs that do not provide access to the bottom part, is somewhat different from the order of measurement of horizontal tanks – the measurement of level is performed through a flange welded pipe.

    One measurement cycle, including the site preparation for temperature sensor and antenna, their installation, calibration, and the level measurement itself do not exceed 1-1.5 minutes per tank (reservoir).

    The energy – independent memory of the levelmeter and analyzer stores:
    — more than 60 calibration tables, including those for virtually all types of railway tanks used in the former CIS.
    — Data on the properties for more than 40 types of liquids.

    The "knowledge base" of the device can be extended more than twice.

Software package ANALIQ-MS is designed for automation of technological processes of reloading and safe storage of petroleum products and other liquids.

The complex is designed for creating measurement systems based on ultrasonic stationary liquid levelmeters and analyzers ANALIQ-S.

 

    • Continuous survey of the devices in real time mode
    • Visualization of measurement results on a computer screen in a form of graphs and mnemonic schemes
    • Formation of teams (permission for filling, installation - transfer of a calibration table of the reservoir and liquid type to the non-volatile memory of the device)
    • Formation of warning and alarm signals for limit level achievement
    • Data transfer to other SCADA, emergency notification system, remote monitoring system
    • Data export to Excell for creating systems of technical and commercial accounting
    • Creation mnemonic schemes (horizontal and vertical reservoirs, setting alarm levels)

  • Every ANALIQ-S device can display mnemonic schemes including:

    • V — volume in liters
    • M — weight in kilograms
    • T — temperature in °С (the unit value of the least significant digit 0,1 °С)

Control system for weight and type of petroleum products

This solution is used when measurements of a large number of rail tankers are necessary. Operative account of the weight of petroleum products in train tanks on any part of the path, including those under the contact mains, control of the type and quality of petroleum products without opening a tank, without performing any in-laboratory analysis - is one of the most effective applications, which provides a rapid recoupment of the instrument.

For the control and accounting of transported petroleum products, for report generation according to the consignment note, the package includes a software ANALIQ, that installs on Windows OS computer.

Features of the solution

There are two main versions of the software for the levelmeter and analyzer ANALIQ-M:

  • The software version "Visible measurement" – the LCD display indicates the measurement results
  • The software version "Blind measurement" is designed to minimize the impact of human factors:
    — The LCD display does not show any measurement results
    — The display indicates the types and numbers of tanks, error messages and prompts for a user
    — A search engine for tank number is implemented based on any amount of the last digits of its number

Before the beginning of measurements the computer program ANALIQ transfers a list of numbers and types of tanks that need to be measured in accordance with the invoice.

More than 100 calibration tables for railway and stationary tanks are stored in the non-volatile memory of the analyzer.

Regardless of the software version, the level analyzer enables to perform group memorization of all the measurement data and calculations with the subsequent issuance of those to the computer via RS232 / USB.

The report shows: the number and type of tank according to the invoice, the liquid level (mm), temperature (° C), density (g /cm3, 4 decimal places), volume (m3), weight (T, accuracy up to kg.), type of product, defined by the device (A76 Lysychansk, A95 Lukoil, DT winter-type Kremenchug, etc.), the level of produced water (mm). For a mixture of propane-butane the percentage of propane is shown.

Data received from the levelmeter ANALIQ-M is displayed in Excell format.

Manual calculations

The ANALIQ software enables to work autonomously. In that case all data regarding the liquid level, speed of sound, temperature and tank (reservoir) type are entered manually.

Software Analiq in manual calculation mode allows to:

  • Automatically determine the type of liquid according to the data entered
  • Bring density of liquids to standard conditions (T = 20 and T = 15)
  • Calculate liquid density at the measuring temperature at (T = 15, T = 20), or any other temperature according to the data entered
  • Determine density, volume and weight of many liquid petroleum products fractions, LPG, chlorine and ammonia
  • Define the percentage of propane-butane
  • Calculate saturated vapor pressure of LPG, chlorine and ammonia
  • Determine density, volume and weight of the liquefied gas vapors, etc.

This system is a subset of APCS for storing and transferring of liquefied gases, ammonia and other corrosive, toxic, flammable, combustible or pressurized liquids in closed containers.

A typical block diagram is shown in Figure.

 

The main components of the system are:

  • Stationary levelmeter and analyzer ANALIQ-S, which is installed on each tank of the storage park, technological reservoir or reloading post for continuous measurement of level, temperature, density, determination of volume and other parameters of liquids.
  • Hardware-software complex ANALIQ-MS. The measurement data, alarm signals are transmitted to a computer, wireless microcontroller or other APCS devices.

Levelmeter ANALIQ-S may in some cases replace or duplicate level sensors. To create an automated process control systems for overload and safe storage of petroleum products and other liquids software ANALIQ-MS was developed.

It provides continuous survey of devices, convenient visualization of the process on a computer screen, formation of warning and alarm signals upon achievement of limit levels, data transfer to automated systems of commercial or technical accounting and other SCADA-systems, alarm and remote monitoring systems.

Stationary levelmeter and analyzer of liquids ANALIQ-S is installed on each tank of a storage park, LPG filling station, technological reservoir for reloading of oil products. It provides continuous measurement of level, temperature, density, determination of volume and other parameters of liquids. Measurement data and alarm signals are transmitted to a computer, wireless microcontroller or other devices APCS

ANALIQ-S levelmeter may in some cases replace or duplicate level sensors. Software ANALIQ-MS was developed to create an automated process control systems for loading and safe storage of petroleum products and other liquids. It provides continuous survey of instruments, convenient visualization of the process on a computer screen, formation of warning and alarm signals when limit levels are achieved, data transmission to automated systems of commercial or technical accounting and other SCADA-systems, alarm systems, remote monitoring systems.

  • Level analyzers ANALIQ-S  are used in enterprises that require continuous monitoring of various parameters of liquids (level, density, temperature, volume, weight, pressure and vapor mass). The use of our levelmeters is particularly effective for automation of technological processes of storage and handling of liquefied gases, ammonia and other corrosive, toxic, flammable, combustible or pressurized liquids in closed containers.

    The objects of automation are storage tanks and loading-unloading racks that are supplied with systems of control and management of hazardous process parameters. Stationary levelmeters and analyzers ANALIQ-S are used to replace existing obsolete and worn out systems of level measurement - mechanical, submersible, radioisotope and others having immediate contact with the liquid or vapor. Level analyzers create an alternative for comparable in accuracy, but more expensive and demanding direct contact with liquid vapor, radar systems.

  • The levelmeter and analyzer Analik-S is installed next to each tank or loading-unloading post. Each levelmeter is equipped with two antennas: ultrasonic (acoustic converters AC), and a temperature sensor TS

    Velocity antenna is used for measurement of response time from the opposite wall of a tank, whereas the level antenna measures from response time from the liquid surface.

    The installation method for ultrasonic antennas and a temperature sensor on the outside wall of tanks of a railway train on the posts of loading-unloading racks, is magnetic. Special clamping devices for mounting on a stationary reservoir are supplied.

    All units have individual numbers and are linked by a common pair of wires to a computer (Windows) or a microprocessor communication controller.

    Software SCADA ANALIQ-MS has an intuitive interface and performs two main functions:
    — Transfer to the nonvolatile memory of the device of a calibration table and a type of liquid to be measured
    — Receiving the measurement results and their visualization.

    Levelmeters can operate independently regardless of the presence of communication with the computer.

An innovative measurement method allowed prompt determination of not only the level but also the type, density and mass of the analyzed liquid and other quality characteristics, such as the percentage of propane and butane in liquefied hydrocarbons and other fluids. All of that is performed without using expensive spectrum analyzers.
